What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Fiber Optic Utility Construction Worker position at DMI?
Our growing construction company is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Underground Fiber Optic Utility Construction Worker. This is a full-time position with the opportunity for long term employment for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain underground fiber optic utility lines.
- Operate equipment such as horizontal directional drills, mini excavators, shovels, and other hand tools.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve any issues that may arise during construction.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely and quality completion of projects.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with team members, property owners, and supervisors.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols at all times.
- Arrive at work on time every day and maintain consistent attendance.
Job Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred but not required.
- Experience in underground utility construction preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools preferred but we will train.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 65 per week
