Position Title: Jr. Data Engineer (Life and Annuity)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer with experience in the Life and Annuity domain. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Big Data technologies, hands-on development experience, and a strong understanding of financial services-particularly investment accounting functions.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide input on architectural decisions and participate in design workshops.
- Create integration and application technical design documentation.
- Conduct peer reviews of functional design documentation.
- Offer guidance on intended solutions and development best practices during configuration and testing phases.
- Develop, configure, and perform unit testing on high-complexity components.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to standards and practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex defects during testing.
- Support performance testing and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Advise on infrastructure and environment setup.
- Assist in production support and environment tuning.
Minimum Skills Required:
- 4–5 years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience designing and developing end-to-end Big Data solutions.
- Expertise in Spark, Scala, AWS Glue, Lambda.
- Strong programming experience in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Proficient in SQL, preferably with Amazon Redshift.
- Experience in financial services and investment accounting functions is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with investment regulatory requirements/reporting is a plus.
