The Department of Developmental Services, Southeast Residential Services (SRS) is searching for a compassionate, enthusiastic professional with excellent organizational and management skills to become part of the management team in a busy and rewarding environment.

The work location for this position is in Middleboro MA - Southeast Residential Services

Job Responsibilities: (The duties and responsibilities stated are general summary and not all inclusive.)

  • Ensures all operational needs are in compliance with safety and licensing standards.
  • Communicates regularly with the Housing Authorities, The Department of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), The Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency (MHFA), and individual owners/landlords of privately owned property.
  • Provides oversight of capital repair projects, and private maintenance contracts.
  • Responsible to evaluate all property for repair that is not included in the contracts.
  • Obtains approval for identified projects, writing the specifications, soliciting bids, secures estimates for the projects.
  • Provides immediate evaluation of emergency and non-emergency situations and coordinates the repair of all damages due to seasonal storms.
  • Direct supervision of two (2) maintenance staff.

ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS AND MUST HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT.

This is a Civil Service position. If there is no Civil Service list for this title, employees appointed must take and pass the next Civil Service examination when administered.

SCHEDULE:

Full-time – 40-hour weekly position.

Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Days off – Saturday and Sunday

Flexibility with schedule required


Qualifications
First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
Applicants must have at least (A) five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, financial management, or professional experience in a particular specialty (i.e. scientific, professional, or technical), and (B) of which three years must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Incumbents may be required to have a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license at a class level specific to assignment.
Substitutions:
I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management, public administration, financial management, or degree related directly to the specialty may be substituted for one year of the required (A) experience.
II. A Graduate or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management, public administration, financial management, or degree related directly to the specialty may be substituted for two years of the required (A) experience.
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range
