What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter II position at DMR-Western Region?
The Department of Developmental Services is seeking an experienced tradesperson for the Painter II position. The main function of this position is to perform painting and window/screen repairs for all of the state-operated homes and support buildings within the Central/West Region.
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Applies paint, varnish and similar materials in finishing interior and exterior surfaces.
- Mixes and blends paint, uses putty, plaster and other materials in preparing surface for painting and to fix windows.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, dusting, sanding, etcetera.
- Must have the ability to climb and work from a scaffold.

Candidate should be able to prepare specifications for large projects, secure quotes from contractors, and survey locations to identify homes that require painting improvements.
- Performs related work as required.
Please Note:
This is a Full-time, 40 hour position. This position is based out of Baldwinville, MA and travels throughout the Central/West Region.
Schedule: Monday through Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with Sunday and Saturday off.
Flexibility required to meet the needs of the Department.
