What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Porter/Janitor position at DMS Facility Services?
Job Summary: Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm (30 minute lunch break - not paid)
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Day Porter to join our team. The Day Porter will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for both employees and visitors. This role involves performing custodial duties, interior and exterior of the building.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain assigned areas, including restrooms, break rooms, hallways, and entryways.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping hard floors.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stocked and maintained.
- Respond promptly to any cleaning requests or emergencies throughout the day.
- Report and or identify areas needing attention or repairs.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
- Speak English or Bi-lingual
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, lifting, and moving equipment or supplies.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage time efficiently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
