What are the responsibilities and job description for the Saw room technician position at DMS Facility Services?
DMS Facility Services is currently seeking for a Woodshop Worker, who will be responsible for the building of Boxes along with the construction and repair of shipping crates, pallets and boxes.
Shift: Mon- Fri 6am-2:30pm
Pay Rate: $20/ hour
Essential Work Functions:
- Operates Hand Tools and Power Tools associated with wood working.
- Operates Fork- Lift and carts to move tools and material required to perform Box and Crate responsibilities.
- Responsible for communicating all emergencies to the Facility Supervisor.
- Be knowledgeable in all aspects of Distribution Warehouse Utility work.
- Must have been employed as a contractor or wood smith. or a similar field.
JOB TASKS
The job duties/tasks include the following:
The Utility worker is responsible maintaining the cleanliness and efficient operation of all power tools and associated wood working equipment.
Complete all assigned work orders.
The worker is responsible for the cleaning and the maintenance of assigned work area.
Woodshop Worker responsibilities include:
Responsible for the inspection and safe operation of assigned equipment
Completing all recommended work order assignments within the time allotted
Maintains accurate logs of inventory.
Perform special projects as assigned.
Must be able to stand and perform all work as assigned.
Must be able to operate hand- held power tools such as drills, saws, grinders.
Responsible for completing safety trainings monthly
Must read, write and communicate verbally in English
Responsible for assigned keys and radios
Responsible for proper and safe conduct in an active distribution warehouse.
Safe operation of vehicles within the warehouse.
Requirements:
Forklift Experience
Wood Working experience
Knowledge and experience using table saw, miter saw, crosscut saw, nail gun and stapler.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
