We are seeking a full time PET/CT Technologist to serve as a float and cover a number of routes throughout Oklahoma, Missouri and Iowa. The ideal candidate will live in one of the following areas: Kansas City, MO; Joplin, MO; Tulsa, OK; or Wichita, KS.
A PET/CT technologist operates scanning equipment to take diagnostic images of a patient's internal organs and tissue to determine how they are functioning. The technologist has a high level of knowledge in positron emission tomography and is dedicated to producing high quality, diagnostically accurate results in a manner that is safe and effective for the patient.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilizes radiopharmaceuticals as well as oral and IV contrast agents to perform a variety of diagnostic PET, PET/CT and CT examinations.

Providing quality patient care and comfort and ensuring patient safety during the procedure.

Explaining medical procedures to patients and answering any questions they may have.

Performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment.

Working in collaboration with radiologists who depend on the technologist to ensure that an imaging test goes smoothly and that precise, detailed images are captured.

Our standard work week is five days a week Monday-Friday, even if you aren't scheduled to work all five days. The position does not have a permanent fixed schedule because our route assignments are subject to change at any time. You will be required to work an alternative schedule within the region as needed to provide backup coverage for leaves of absences, vacations, unplanned absences, etc., on unscheduled days.
Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to multi-task while maintaining great patient care as well as superior quality of exams in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, analytical, critical thinking, organizational and time management skills.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well independently.

The ability to follow instructions in stressful environments.

Superb bedside manner and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.

PC proficiency to access job related internet websites, review on-line documentation and experience using Microsoft Office Suite products.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Testing
CNMT or RT (N), CPR certified, mandatory education, TB,
Advanced certification in modality must be obtained with 18 months of hire.
