Data Services Analyst

The Data Services Analyst leverages a deep understanding of DMSi software products and customer business processes related to ERP software and/or DMSi integrated products. The Data Services Analyst will use this knowledge and technical skills to provide support to our customers related to these products and coordinate with our development staff regarding future product enhancements. This position will participate in customer and internal training, contribute to the DMSi Knowledge Base, and provide support for other teams/departments as needed. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Evaluate and manage customer requests (including billable engagements) using internal systems. For any given project, the life cycle of a customer request includes the following:
   1. Estimating project time: Accurately estimate the time needed to complete the project, identify necessary resources and tools, document project goals clearly and concisely, and develop a project plan.
   2. Executing the project plan: This may include writing queries, creating reports/dashboards, writing code within existing software, and/or testing.
   3. Customer Communication: Maintain communication with the customer throughout the process, from requirements gathering to project completion.
2. Understand DMSi’s projects relating to forms customization, data extraction, reporting, and data transformations (ETL).
3. Make recommendations to development staff regarding future enhancements.
4. Have an advanced understanding of DMSi’s internal support tools and procedures.
5. Assist other DMSi personnel in researching, testing, or handling work requests through escalation support, coaching, and training..
6. Complete documentation related to job responsibilities and contribute to or improve our DMSi Knowledge Base.
7. Lead/attend/assist with training for internal personnel, customers, and prospects.
8. Assist with internal projects to support departmental and organizational objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Expertise in report writing languages (e.g. Cyberquery, SQL, or similar).
Experience with reading/writing HTML, SCC and JavaScript.
Knowledge of data lineage and ETL.
Familiarity architecting and deploying Business Intelligence reporting (e.g. QlikView/QlikSense, Power BI, Tableau).
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of database management methodology/principles.
Interest in leveraging data to solve unique and challenging business problems.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, work well under pressure, and adhere to time-sensitive deadlines.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good analytical, logical, research, and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
College degree in Data Science, CIS, MIS, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related discipline, or five years of equivalent work experience in related fields.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal office environment with use of computers and telephone systems; no unusual physical demands.
Travel to customer locations including overnight, business air travel, and car rental as needed.
