Job Overview:
We are seeking a Network Engineer responsible for the operational health of our client’s network. You will manage technical issues and ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This role involves significant hands-on troubleshooting and working with various technologies and service providers.
- Provide triage, analysis, and resolution of network incidents.
- Manage end-to-end incident resolution, bringing in additional resources as required.
- Coordinate with service providers, stakeholders, and internal teams to resolve network issues.
- Act as a major incident manager when necessary, providing timely updates during incidents.
- Troubleshoot and configure networking equipment, including Cisco and Meraki technologies.
- Participate in a global on-call rotation, addressing critical issues as they arise.
- Utilize network management systems to diagnose and resolve network problems.
- Interface with site contacts and service providers to ensure service level agreements are met.
- Evaluate network performance and recommend improvements.
- Maintain accurate records in our CMDB and internal Knowledge Base.
- Handle DNS/DHCP requests and implement network changes as planned by the design and planning team.
What You Need to Have:
- 5 years of hands-on troubleshooting and configuration experience in a diverse network environment.
- Proficiency with Cisco IOS, Meraki dashboard, and other network management tools.
- Experience in configuring WLAN technologies, particularly with Cisco and Meraki.
- Familiarity with Cisco NSO, SAE, UCS, ISE, and DUO preferred.
- Experience with VMware environments.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, NAT) and network management methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with remote teams and clients.
- Understanding of ITIL frameworks related to network operations.
