Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our high to medium volume surgical office team as a Patient Service Representative. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their experience is welcoming, professional, and efficient. This position requires a proactive, organized, and compassionate individual who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This is a 100% in-office position, Monday - Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Appointment Scheduling: Manage complex and high-volume appointment scheduling to maximize provider availability and meet patient needs efficiently.
• Patient Check-In and Check-Out: Verify insurance coverage, update demographic information, and ensure patient data accuracy during each visit.
• Patient Communication: Answer a high volume of phone calls, addressing patient inquiries, concerns, and scheduling requests with professionalism and empathy.
• Records Management: Maintain accurate and
up-to-date patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and other tools.
• Financial Transactions: Collect co-pays, process billing inquiries, and assist patients with basic account questions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with patients, providers, and team members.
• Organizational Abilities: Strong multitasking skills to manage a busy schedule and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and other office management software.
• Customer Service Orientation: A compassionate and patient-centered approach to ensure every interaction leaves a positive impression.
• Basic Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification procedures to support accurate and efficient patient care.

• Prior experience working in a medium -volume medical office or healthcare setting.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing patient schedules and office needs.
• Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus.
