DNA Life Sciences is currently Partnered with an innovative Pharmaceutical Manufacturer. They’re currently looking for an experienced Finance Controller to join the team in NewYork.
As a Controller in the pharmatechnology field, your role will involve providing crucial support for daily accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and helping maintain the organization's financial health. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a rapidly evolving industry, where your contributions will directly impact the success and growth of the company. (Prior Medical/Medtech Experience Finance would be preferred)
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports, with familiarity in US GAAP and IFRS.
- Process and reconcile accounts payable/receivable.
- Manage month-end/year-end reporting, consolidating US and Germany financials.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with month-end closing.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Experience with both public and private companies.
- Prepare timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP for external and internal reporting.
- Manage and ensure timely monthly closing process.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy.
- Lead quarterly and yearly audit/tax processes, serving as the main contact with independent accountants.
- Oversee capitalization table and equity management.
- Provide accounting guidance for business decisions (e.g., lease accounting, revenue recognition).
- Assist in designing standard operating procedures and SOX processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of tax filings (Federal, State, and Payroll).
Requirements
- 7 years in accounting/finance, with experience in financial reporting
- Strong GAAP knowledge, with the ability to identify and assess new GAAP matters (IFRS familiarity preferred).
- Expertise in advanced accounting principles and procedures.
- Skilled in drafting comprehensive financial statements, including footnotes.
- Proven ability to organize efficient monthly closing processes.
- Ability to motivate and influence without direct authority.
- Self-starter with proactive accounting and financial expertise for business decisions.
- Effective communicator of accounting implications to senior management.
- Team player respected by colleagues and leadership.
- Proficient in financial software (Sage, SAP, Netsuite, Oracle), QBO, Carta, EquityEdge, and MS Excel.
