We are now recruiting for a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer to join us as a key technologist in the Cyber Security domain and help drive the technical lifecycle of infrastructure and applications within the technologies relevant to your area of responsibility.
You will function as a full-fledged subject matter expert to define, design, implement and support each of the Cyber Security technology and services, ensuring they meet business requirements and comply with corporate policy and standards.
As a level 4 engineer, provide technical support to level 3 group and support the investigations of the security incidents and policy non-compliances.
You will remain current with new exploits, threats and security risks and assess new developments efficiently and coordinate tactical measures across Cyber.
As our Cyber Security Engineer you will author monthly reports that include a current state assessment and work in progress activities for consumption across.
This role would suite an engineer looking to develop in the areas of Cyber Security and defence.
This role is based in Leyland on a hybrid basis (3 days in the office each week). Some UK travel to other sites may be required.
To be considered for this role, we need you to have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- Strong relevant experience (Infrastructure, Software information systems security, audit, compliance, risk management)
- Knowledge of IT Audit and Information Security Management Systems & Platform Security
- Hands-on knowledge on various anti-virus products, email security gateway, email encryption, two-factor authentication solution, and on Privilege access management solution.
- Knowledge of Network Security – hands on knowledge various firewalls products.
- Well versed with VPN technologies (client to site or site to site VPN). Good knowledge about forward proxy solution. Hands -on knowledge reverse proxy and web application firewall solutions.
- Experience having worked on Identity Services Engine.
- Strong TCP/IP networking skills to perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common technology or application problems
- Able to follow ITIL practices regarding incident, problem and change management
- Up-to-date with emerging security threats including applicable regulatory security requirements. o Ability to quickly adapt and master new technology/processes as per the business/partner requirement.
- Effective communication skills
- Relevant professional experience including a working knowledge or high level awareness of the following technologies:
- Network Analysis Tools (e.g. Splunk, Netwitness, Wireshark, etc.)
- System Analysis, Forensic Tools and Endpoint Security
- Windows Management (e.g. WSUS, SCCM, SCOM, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, etc.)
- Routing, Switching and Data Center Design
- Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions, Incident response and forensics.
- Knowledge of common web vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top Ten).
- Knowledge of cloud security principles for providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks like PCIDSS, GDPR, etc.
- Experience of developing security policies and standards.
- Able to create security reports, risk assessments, and documentation for audits.
