Job Summary
As an Environmental Test Technician, you will be responsible for conducting various environmental tests to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards. It is a full-time position at the testing facility with regular hours Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM, paid overtime and benefits. We are looking for an experienced electrical and mechanical test technician to test Military, Aerospace and Commercial style electrical connectors.
Responsibilities
- Prepare for test programs by studying internal documents, relevant specifications and the scope of work provided by a customer to prepare for the test setup
- Set up the test equipment in accordance with the lab schedule, interface with customers if they are on site, and communicate effectively within the company structure
- Operate, clean and safeguard environmental testing equipment while performing tests
- Safeguard the customer’s equipment under test and follow the protocols to maintain the facility’s security clearance and non-disclosure agreements
- Breakdown the setup after the completion, maintain your area of the lab in a clean condition
- Analyze test results and report findings accurately, troubleshoot, and complete Test Logs and Test Data sheets
- Implement Quality Management practices and adhere to ISO/IEC 17025 standards
- Ensure compliance to workplace safety standards
- Operate in an environment that can be noisy and requires physical activity
- Demonstrate adequate mechanical and electrical technical qualifications to operate unique test equipment
Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience performing electrical and mechanical testing on Mil/Aero and Commercial style electrical connectors such as, but not limited to, MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-83723, MIL-DTL-24308, MIL-PRF-39012, and MIL-PRF-55339. The candidate will be familiar with industry test specifications such as EIA-364, MIL-STD-1344, MIL-STD-202, MIL-STD-810 and have prior experience performing the following tests: Visual/Mechanical Inspection, DWV, IR, Contact Resistance, Shell-to-Shell Conductivity, Contact/Insert Force Testing, Salt spray, Thermal Shock, Temperature, Humidity, Altitude Immersion, Durability, Vibration, Shock, Sand and Dust, Resistance to Solder Heat, and Fluid Immersion. Experience completing Test Logs and Test Data sheets will also be required.
