We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable process and ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers. In this role, you will be expected to maintain accurate financial records and reconcile accounts payable transactions. You will also be responsible for managing a team of accounts payable professionals and ensuring that all invoices are processed in a timely and efficient mannerDuties and responsibilities
- Oversee the accounts payable department and ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, and vendor payments,
- Develop and maintain accounts payable policies and procedures as needed and develops procedures to improve existing processes, to include making recommendations and implementing processing efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations
- Monitor and analyze accounts payable processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, operations, treasury, and finance, to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or disputes related to payments or invoices
- Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging reports, cash flow projections, and vendor performance metrics
- Train and develop accounts payable staff, including setting performance goals and conducting performance evaluations
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes for accounts payable
- Assist with audits and provide documentation and support as needed
- Lead special projects and audits as required by management
Requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounts payable or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems – SAP, Taulia, Open Text all a plus
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong Presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Must be a self-starter that is well organized, extremely detail oriented and can work closely with staff members at all levels of the organization in a team-oriented manner
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in managing a team of accounts payable professionals
- Experience in process improvement and implementing best practices
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations
- Professional certification such as Certified Accounts Payable Associate (CAPA) or Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) is a plus
