Job purpose
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for daily supervision in a multi-shift, 24/7 production environment. Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Production Supervisor will lead the production team(s) toward the achievement of Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals.
Duties and responsibilities
- Transform manufacturing processes through the use of Lean manufacturing tools
- Coordinate, direct, and evaluate activities of manufacturing leadership and operations staff
- Conducts Safety, Quality & Performance training throughout the production area
- Responsible for supervising, training, motivating and developing leadership and associates
- Create, revise, and maintain production Work Instructions
- Capture, Investigate, and Resolve Nonconforming material events
- Executes audits of process data collection performed by leadership
- Track, analyze, and report the performance of designated shift(s)
- Coordinate equipment Preventive Maintenance schedule with the Maintenance department
- Ensure accurate process, production, and inventory data are captured and monitored
- Ensures adherence to company Safety, Quality, Performance, Attendance, and Conduct policies and executes Disciplinary Action in collaboration with Production Manager
- Communicate and work with other departments throughout the facility to resolve daily issues that arise and develop solutions to eliminate recurrence
- Ensure employee placement, resource allocation and material availability to achieve forecasted demand
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- 3 years of supervisory experience preferably in a 24/7 multi-shift manufacturing operation
- Associate degree in a technical field with at least 7 years of manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of procedures and processes in an ISO9001 quality system
- Previous experience in a high-speed converting or packaging operation preferred
- Demonstrated competence in supervising >30 employees
- Six Sigma Certification preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule: hours & days to accommodate multiple shifts
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures and ERP system
- Strong communication and managerial skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position oversees the team of their designated department (Team Leads and Operators)
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand/walk for 8-10 hours daily
- Must be able to push/pull/ lift at least 45 lbs. individually and 50 lbs. with the help of a team member

Safety Requirements
- Ability to wear required PPE (including safety glasses, gloves (nitrile, canvas, etc.), hearing protection, ANSI-approved footwear, and others as required.) in any manufacturing area.
The hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
