DNV GL Energy Services USA, Inc. seeks an Energy Engineer to work at our location in Okemos, MI.
Job Duties: Review and verify mechanical equipment and technical merits of customer energy efficiency applications, including calculation of energy savings and verification of mechanical equipment specifications. Conduct site inspections to verify the installation of energy efficient equipment. Interact with customers to address questions or concerns about the installed equipment or program information, and to inform them of incentive requirements. Conduct facility walk-throughs to identify energy efficiency opportunities and generate corresponding energy efficiency proposals relating to mechanically operating equipment. Perform site-specific engineering analysis and evaluation of energy efficiency projects and programs involving energy conservation measures such as lighting upgrades, industrial process equipment upgrades, pumps, fans, compressed air systems, complex central plant systems, and advanced HVAC equipment.
Main Requirements: At least a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Industrial, or Architectural Engineering or closely related field of study and at least two (2) years of experience as an Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Energy Engineer, Power Systems Engineer or related occupation. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience, employer will accept a Master's degree in stated fields of study and six (6) months of stated experience.
Special Skills: Requires training, education, or other relevant experience with the following:
- Education in Energy Modeling using software such as eQuest, EnergyPlus, Carrier HAP or TraneTrace;
- Understanding of LEED and Green Building concepts; and
- Proficiency with computer-aided design and drafting software such as KMLT, AutoCAD, Pro-E or ANSYS and interpretation of such product outcome.
