Purpose of Job
June 7th-14th 2025
Mentors will be responsible for assuring our Japanese middle school students will have a positive experience during their time in Nebraska.
General Description and Duties
- Attend a 2-hour orientation
- Serve in the Adventure Zone classrooms in the morning with both American and Japanese middle school students
- Serve as a small group leader for 7 Japanese middle school students for afternoon activities and tours (e.g., Omaha Zoo, Stuhr Museum, Sun Valley Lanes bowling excursion, Nebraska Capitol Building, Nebraska History Museum, Westfield Shopping Mall)
- Debrief with Adventure Zone Mentor Trainer and fellow mentors each morning
- Lunch and most dinners will be provided, all admission fees are included
- Adventure Zone Mentors will be paid a stipend of $900 for the week.
Special Skills or Knowledge Required
- Open to interacting with people from other cultures
- Responsible, cooperative, and comfortable with people
- Possess excellent personal integrity
- Have good communication skills
- Experience working with children, teens, or with people from other cultures is an advantage, but is not required.
