Purpose of Job

The Tigers on Tour (TOT) program is designed for students who will be involved in the promotion of Doane University to internal and external audiences through a variety of events. The program will provide the opportunity for students to integrate leadership concepts and theories with college relations initiatives. There will be an emphasis on developing skills in business, interpersonal communications, marketing, and social media. They will have hands-on experiences in engaging with alumni and friends through alumni research, interviews, and events.
This position is for paid summer employment and has the potential to count for internship hours (3 credit hour maximum). Some weekday travel included with potential out-of-state weekend events as well.

General Description and Duties
- Interview successful alumni about their relationship with Doane.
- Develop and maintain social media outreach campaigns.
- Work closely on event logistics.
- Communicate effectively with a significant number of young alumni.
- Make personal calls on the phone, in person, or via Zoom to key alumni.
- Assist with Homecoming preparation, particularly class reunion gatherings.
- Other alumni communications and clerical duties as assigned.
- Attend Student Leadership Summit April 27, 2025
Special Skills or Knowledge Required
- Leadership experience within campus organizations is preferred.
- Ability to think on the spot, adapt to situations, and speak well with new people.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to stay on top of individual goals, outreach, and interview scheduling.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of social media.
- Excellent writing skills and good eye for detail.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- High level of student involvement (organizations, athletics, music, etc.) on campus preferred.
- Excellent creative thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Adobe Creative Suites, Canva, or graphic design experience a plus but certainly not necessary.

Total Weekly Hours Required
Work 30 hours/week from end of May – beginning of August (paid).
