Orthodontic Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team at dobie revolution orthodontics. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting orthodontic procedures and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of orthodontic practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. We have 2 locations (Guilford & Hamden) and we will require you to work in both locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using dental software (ortho2).
• Ensure the treatment area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of infection control protocols.
• Familiarity with medical imaging techniques relevant to orthodontics.
• Familiarity with taking dental photographs.
• Familiarity with intraoral scanning and 3D printing.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Self motivated to work on organizing the clinic when not busy with patients.
• Friendly and outgoing so that you can chat with patients and make strong personal relationships.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 34 per week
