What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Associate position at Dobson Fiber?
The Accounting Associate supports the Accounting Team by coordinating the timely and accurate processing of timesheets and payroll approvals, invoice approvals, and bank deposits.
- Coordinates accounts payable approvals and processes invoices for timely and accurate payment.
- Coordinates timesheet approvals, reviews payroll details, completes payroll functions, and works closely with payroll processor to ensure accuracy.
- Cooperates & interacts effectively via ongoing communication and exchange of information both internally and externally.
- Works proactively to review, identify, and correct irregularities in transactions.
- Assists the accounting team with reconciling and minor accounting functions.
- Communicates with internal and external auditors as necessary.
- Maintains an efficient and well-organized records system relevant to the area of responsibility.
- Upholds the security and confidentiality of any documentation and electronic data within the area of responsibility.
- Performs general office support and administrative assistance as required.
- Provide support and assist the accounting team with general tasks and projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Associate’s degree in the field of accounting, business finance, or management and/or;
- 3-5 years of direct accounting experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Requires Excel and Analysis skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and proactive.
- Skills in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to understand, reconcile, substantiate, and analyze data for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Ability to follow instructions and give attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in 10-key data entry and typing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enables the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enables interpersonal communication and communication through automated devices like the telephone.

- Employees who drive company vehicles must possess a valid and appropriate driver’s license for driving the vehicle, and employees who operate company equipment must be trained and authorized.
- Employees operating company vehicles and equipment must comply with state and federal laws and regulations. Seat belt use is required while operating any company vehicle or equipment.
- Texting while driving is prohibited by Dobson Fiber policy and State Law.
- Participate in safety committee meetings, training sessions, and surveys as requested and provide input into improving safety.
- Notify your supervisor or Human Resources immediately of any change in physical or mental condition or use of prescription drugs or illegal drugs that would affect the employee’s job performance or the safety of him/herself or others.
- Working under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs is strictly prohibited at any company facility, workplace, worksite, or when operating any company vehicle or equipment. Any employee, contractor, or subcontractor who works or reports to work under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs will be subject to disciplinary action, including possible termination of employment or loss of contract.
- Notify the Human Resources Director within five days of serious driving, drug/alcohol, or criminal convictions.
