UMMARY
As Freight and Customer Support Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the shipping operations of our company to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products to customers while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy. Your role will involve coordinating logistics, monitoring inventory levels, implementing shipping strategies, mentoring team members, handling escalations, managing the customer service team, and providing freight and customer service support supervision. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational abilities, a thorough understanding of shipping and logistics processes, and strong leadership skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee shipping department operations, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and compliance with shipping regulations and customer requirements.
- Mentor and support team members, providing guidance, development opportunities, and resolving issues.
- Manage and support the customer service team to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
- Oversee order processing, ensuring accuracy in returns, pricing, and purchase order (PO) management.
- Update and maintain pricing information in relevant files and systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and communicating changes to customers.
- Maintain and verify records, including maintenance files, bills of lading, cost reports, and freight bills.
- Coordinate with production, sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and resolve shipping-related issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize shipping processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Process returns authorizations and oversee proper handling of returned products.
- Assist the accounting team with collections and credit report analysis.
- Manage freight processes, including printing IDs on BOLs, filing damage claims, reviewing RMAs and credits, and standardizing return paperwork between Tri-Arc and Ballymore.
- Miscellaneous reports as requested (pricing reports, shipping reports, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in high-volume shipping environments, with leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Proficiency in shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, regulations, and documentation.
- Familiarity with inventory management and shipment tracking systems.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a data-driven approach to process improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members, customers, and other departments.
