Job Overview
NYC-based vibe dining concept is seeking dedicated and skilled Line Cooks and Prep Cooks for our upcoming Beale Street location in Memphis, TN. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality plates with consistent execution. This role involves prepping and cooking various ingredients using a variety of methods and equipment while ensuring food safety standards are met in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Line Cook/Prep Cook will work closely with the Kitchen Manager and other kitchen staff to provide exceptional food service while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager in creating prep lists and stocking lists for each shift.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper labeling and storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Support other kitchen staff in various tasks as required to ensure smooth operation during service hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report needs to Kitchen Manager
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Prep Cook or Line Cook in a full-service setting
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques and recipes.
- Basic reading skills (English) in order to read recipes, food orders, etc.
- Basic math skills in order to properly measure ingredients for recipes.
- Basic safe knife handling skills.
- Able to safely lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Able to stand for long periods of time without sitting (4 hours).
- Able to tolerate working in heat typical to a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $13.50 - $19.00 per hour
