We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mohs Surgical Medical Assistant to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the Mohs surgeon during surgeries, providing excellent patient care, and assisting with administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operations. Key Responsibilities:

Surgical Assistance:
- Assist the Mohs surgeon during procedures by preparing the surgical area, preparing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Prepare patients for surgery, explaining the procedure and ensuring their comfort.
- Handle surgical specimens, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for pathology.
- Monitor patients during the procedure.

Patient Care:
- Escort patients to exam rooms and take medical histories, including current medications and allergies.
- Obtain informed consent for procedures and assist in educating patients about the Mohs surgery process.
- Provide post-operative care instructions, including wound care, follow-up scheduling, and medication instructions.
- Answer patient questions and provide reassurance during all stages of the surgical process.

Clinical Support:
- Assist with minor pre-operative and post-operative procedures.
- Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist with biopsies, dressings, and patient follow-ups.

Administrative Tasks:
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring all necessary pre-surgical preparations are completed.
- Update and maintain patient records accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Manage patient flow to ensure efficient operation of the Mohs surgical schedule.
- Handle phone calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding appointment times, post-op care.

Compliance & Safety:
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Stay current with medical terminology, procedures, and advancements related to Mohs surgery.
Qualifications:

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Mohs surgical assistant training or certification is a plus.

Experience:
- At least 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in dermatology, surgery, or a related field.
- Experience assisting in surgical procedures, preferably in Mohs surgery, is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and medical software.
