Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Crate Shop Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in carpentry, proficiency with power tools, and the ability to accurately read a tape measure. This position involves constructing, assembling, and reinforcing wooden crates for shipping and storage purposes. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct wooden crates and shipping containers according to specifications.
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
- Operate saws, drills, nail guns, and other carpentry tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect and reinforce crates to ensure structural integrity and durability.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with loading and securing crates for transport when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in carpentry, woodworking, or crate assembly.
- Proficiency with power tools, including saws, drills, and nail guns.
- Ability to accurately read and measure using a tape measure.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic math skills for measuring and cutting materials.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
