Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and health histories.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on assessment findings.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilize medical terminology and ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Provide health coaching and education to patients regarding lifestyle changes, medication management, and disease prevention strategies.
- Engage in psychopharmacology practices for mental health management when necessary.
- Participate in utilization review processes to evaluate the appropriateness of care provided.
- Stay informed about clinical research developments relevant to family practice and integrate findings into patient care when applicable.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care delivery and outcomes.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner program from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with prescriptive authority.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and experience with ICD-10 coding is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in medication administration and administering injections.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong skills in health coaching and patient education methodologies.
- Familiarity with utilization review processes is advantageous.
- Experience in clinical research is a plus, particularly related to family medicine or primary care settings.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
