What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) position at Doctor Pharmacy Rx?
Doctor Pharmacy Rx is a small community remote, retail pharmacy located in Tucson, AZ. Our pharmacy cares about quality customer service. We are looking for a pharmacist technician to work 5 days a week, Monday-Friday 9 am - 5 pm who is willing to grow with us as a start-up pharmacy over the long term.
Job Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Answering and calling all patients regarding prescription pickup is a large part of this job
- Filling Prescriptions
- Restocking Medications
- Packaging medications for delivery
- Answering patient questions
- Having excellent communication skills, Amazing Customer Service is Essential
- Compounding Medications
- Working with patients to get the cheapest price possible for them
- Processing Prior Authorizations and Insurance Paperwork
- Training new staff (i.e. Technician trainees, etc.)
- Medication Verification remotely under supervision of Pharmacist
Basic Qualifications
- Current pharmacist technician licensure in the state of Arizona
- 1,000 hours of experience outpatient
- Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
- Technician will be required to complete 2 CE hours training in remote dispensing practices before starting
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year experience as a pharmacist technician preferred in a retail setting including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance.
Hourly Pay will be determined by prior experience.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
