The Perinatal Institute at Cincinnati Children's is currently seeking a full-time, In-house, Staff Physician Neonatologist and / or Newborn Special Care Nursery Hospitalist to focus on neonatal programs in the Greater Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky / Dayton areas.
Clinical exposure is rich and stimulating, ensuring development of strong bedside clinical acumen. Clinical efforts will include service at one or more of Children's Level IV NICU, (5) Level III and (9) Level II NICUs, as well as delivery attendance, stabilization care, and well-newborn exams and discharges. This position includes opportunities for mentorship and teaching of medical students, residents, nursing, and allied healthcare professionals, as well as participation in newborn-focused quality improvement and clinical projects.
This position offers flexible, alternative work schedules focused on night and weekend shifts with time off during the weekday, which is rewarded with a competitive compensation package.
Applicants must be board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and / or Neonatology and must have experience in Level II / III / IV NICU.

PURPOSE OF POSITION : To provide safe and effective medical care to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center patients, contributing to the advancement of clinical patient care and outcomes by following care guidelines and treatment protocols for infants, children, and adolescent patients, and to aid in their mental and physical growth and development. May elect to participate in the training and education of residents, fellows, and other learners.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patient Care : Perform direct patient care of pediatric patients within the scope of the medical license, education, and experience. Examine patients to determine the presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices.
- Clinical Excellence : Participate in ongoing educational activities for continued enhancement of clinical expertise.
- Effective Communication : Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred, or discharged.
- Training and Education : Participate in the training and education of medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, community physicians, and / or staff.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Required : Doctor of Medicine OR Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine OR equivalent, unrestricted licensed physician, approval / credentialing from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division, 2 years related experience.
Preferred : Board certification in pediatrics, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), CPR.
