Doctor's Data, Inc. is looking for an experienced laboratory individual to fill a role in our clinical laboratory as a senior chemistry technologist. This is an opportunity to utilize clinical knowledge and experience in assuring that our specialized test systems are being performed according to the highest standards. This is a full time split-shift position hours 11:00AM-7:30PM.

Summary
We are looking for an experienced chemistry technologist who performs a wide variety of assignments of all complexities under minimal supervision. Assists manager in overseeing work activities. Conducts technically complex laboratory analyses requiring significant knowledge and experience in specific area. Able to perform advanced troubleshooting steps to the department systems, instruments and methods. Evaluates and releases test results, and monitors programs that ensure accuracy of tests. Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Test specimens such as urine, blood, and stool for presence and quantity of various analytes performed on chemistry analyzers or EIA test kit systems
- Actively carry out the direction and instruction given by the chemistry manager
- Follow established policies and procedures for performing tests
- Participate in training and competency evaluation and verify that staff are trained and competent prior to performing testing on patient specimens independently
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance and either correct the problem or notify supervisors
- Advise manager immediately of any problems in testing systems
- Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies and procedures and document all quality control activities
- Perform other duties of moderate to high complexity as assigned by manager
Job Requirements:
Requires a minimum of a BS in chemical, or biological science with four years related experience or a degree in medical technology from an accredited institution with two years clinical experience. ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
