Optician / Optometry Medical Assistant
Busy Optometry Practice in Claremont, NH is hiring. Looking for friendly, detail-oriented person with experience working with people. The successful candidate will be a NICE person who is able to apply their experience in a customer-first environment. A focus on educating the patient is imperative. Duties:
-Provide eyeglasses by filling written optical prescriptions; determining client’s current prescription, using Lensometer.
-Suits customers need by recommending specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames.
-Help clients select frames by offering commentary on styles, colors, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
-Measures customer’s pupillary distance, eye size, and temple length.
-Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
-Checks condition of patients’ eyes by observing pupils, visual acuity, and pressures.
-Refract patients to get their prescription for eyeglasses.
-Prepares patients for examination by dilating their pupils, reporting patient history summary, changes in visual acuity, and elevated extraocular pressure.
-Trains patients how to insert and remove contact lenses.
Requirements:
-High School Diploma or equivalent.
