What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Doctor Today?
- Welcoming patient’s professionally and politely to the practice
- Checking in patients, collecting all demographic information and ensuring new patient paperwork is entered into EMR. Verify and update demographic information each visit
- Collect any relevant copays, deductibles, previous balances, self-pay charges and other payments prior to services rendered
- Interacts appropriately with patients and records information while greeting, checking-in, checking-out or scheduling appointments for patients. Check lobby and restrooms routinely to ensure office is clean and presentable
- Ensures all patients are scheduled for their follow up visit
- Answers telephones, takes detailed and accurate messages, and ensures messages are directed to the appropriate individual
- Verifies patient insurance via phone or health plan portals
- Retrieve and release medical records per office policy
- Presents patients with customer service survey during check out and escalates if needed for immediate service recovery.
- Participates in daily and weekly huddles to provide details on patients.
