Job Description: Advancement Officer
The Advancement Officer is pivotal in enhancing the Doctors Charter School's engagement with stakeholders, advancing fundraising initiatives, and promoting the organization's overall mission and objectives. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring that all activities align with the institution's goals and strategies.
Fundraising Strategy Development
- Design and implement comprehensive strategies to support the institution's financial objectives.
- Identify potential donors and funding opportunities, cultivating relationships to increase contributions.
- Write and submit grant proposals to secure funding for projects.
Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with alumni, donors, and community partners.
- Engage stakeholders through events, meetings, and targeted communications.
Communications and Marketing
- Develop effective promotional materials that articulate the institution's mission and advancement objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director to enhance awareness and visibility for campaigns and initiatives.
- Ensure website and social media are updated as needed and in a timely manner.
Event Planning and Execution
- Organize and coordinate fundraising events and outreach activities to engage and inspire potential donors.
- Oversee logistics, budgeting, and post-event evaluations to ensure successful outcomes.
Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and prospective contributors within the database.
- Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress and analyze data to guide future strategies.
Collaboration and Team Support
- Collaborate with institutional leadership, faculty, and staff to align advancement activities with overarching institutional goals.
- Provide support and training for volunteers and stakeholders involved in fundraising efforts.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in communications, business, nonprofit management, or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, or institutional advancement with a proven track record of successful campaigns.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in fundraising software and database management.
- Knowledge of best practices in donor relations and philanthropy.
