What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant (Hybrid Position) position at DOCTORS HEALTHCARE PLANS, INC.?
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Assist Accounting Manager with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance department.
- Prepare and post monthly Journal Entries to the GL.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
- Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Assist with Budgets and Actual vs Budget analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related fields, required
- Minimum five years’ experience in accounting.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and organization.
- Proven track record of good communication skills.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel) and Word.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks; work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in healthcare industry preferred but not required.
- Great Plains accounting system experience preferred but not required.
