Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsible for the implementation and execution of data entry and communication for medical records, State and DEA licensure and malpractice insurance suspension, termination and reinstatement processes for Medical Staff and Advanced Practice Professionals in accordance with State, Regulatory, Accrediting entities as well as Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, Credentialing Manual and Organization & Functions Manual.

What you will do in this role :

  • Responsible for daily systems data entry of non-privileges providers into the various system databases and EMR’s Providers Directory.
  • Stays abreast of and applies knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Works as a liaison with the Medical Staff Manager and Hospital Administration regarding the expirables process.
  • Develops, analyzes, and implements weekly and monthly Medical Records and Licensure / Malpractice Insurance expirables reports. Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of electronic credentialing files and maintenance of all related credentialing and system databases.
  • Disseminates communication to the Medical Staff and Advanced Practice Professionals from Hospitals or System Office.
  • What qualifications you will need :

  • Minimum of 20 hours or 15 semester hours of college credit which include anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and medical science; CPMSM and / or CPCS certification is preferred. If not certified, a background with medical terminology and hospital experience is preferred
  • A minimum of three years experience in a healthcare setting preferably in a hospital medical staff credentialing office. Experience with first hand interaction with physicians and Allied Health Providers is desirable.
  • CPCS and / or RHIA preferred
