Essential Job Functions
- Guide nursing leadership in the preparation and submission of budget reports and requisitions alongside the Administrative Team.
- Work collaboratively to ensure that service line programs adhere to budget guidelines and strive to exceed financial expectations.
- Monitor and manage department expenditures, proactively addressing unforeseen costs and identifying cost-saving initiatives.
- Select vendors for services not otherwise prescribed and seek innovative alternatives for capital purchases while anticipating equipment needs.
- Perform supervisory and managerial tasks, including staffing oversight, performance evaluations, employee development, and communication enhancement.
- Utilize performance metrics to track departmental achievements and operational objectives.
- Adjust workforce levels as necessary to align with budgetary staffing models and patient care requirements.
- Foster collaboration with nursing leaders to meet recruitment and continuous professional development goals for nursing staff.
- Support the execution of effective performance improvement initiatives and the application of clinical practice guidelines.
- Assist in the orientation, evaluation, counseling, and professional growth of nursing personnel.
- Enhance communication among physicians, staff, patients, families, and vendors.
- Provide relevant information from data sources to other departments and committees, as directed by Senior Management.
- Coordinate attendance at medical department and administrative meetings with the CNO.
