Job Title: Lead Dental Assistant
Location: New Braunfels, TX

Please note that this position requires travel to both our New Braunfels practice and our San Antonio practice.

Position Overview
As a Lead Dental Assistant at our New Braunfels location, you will be a key member of our clinical team. This role goes beyond chairside assisting—our Lead Dental Assistants set the standard for patient care, clinical excellence, and team support. You will mentor new staff, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain an organized and well-supplied clinical setting. Above all, you will create a warm, welcoming environment that ensures a 5-star experience for every patient.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Proficiency & Patient Care

  • Exemplify our company values—Lead with Love, Better Every Day—in all patient and team interactions.
  • Perform all surgical and dental assistant duties with expertise, including radiographs, scans, and implant-related procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure that all clinical documentation meets compliance standards.
  • Utilize and maintain equipment and systems (ZOHO, Pano/CBCT, Primescan, iMetric, Cliq, Google Drive, Open Dental) effectively and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with the clinical team to ensure patients feel cared for, well-informed, and at ease throughout their visit.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Onboard, train, and mentor new clinical staff members, providing ongoing support and skill development.
  • Assign daily tasks to the clinical team, monitoring performance and setting clear expectations.
  • Offer constructive feedback and corrective action to staff when needed, in collaboration with the Office Manager.
  • Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process for clinical hires, including overseeing job shadow interviews.

Regulatory Compliance & Practice Management

  • Prepare for state board inspections, maintaining all required documentation and ensuring adherence to protocols.
  • Perform monthly checks of all emergency medications and equipment, keeping detailed logs.
  • Manage controlled substance inventory, including scheduling orders and conducting biennial counts.
  • Ensure all team members stay current with necessary continuing education, CPR certification, and state licensure.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Delivering a consistently 5-star patient experience, as evidenced by patient feedback and online reviews.
  • Accurately completing clinical notes, consent forms, and anesthesia records in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining organized and sufficient stock of supplies and ensuring proper equipment maintenance.
  • Promptly preparing and uploading all required digital records for designers.
  • Providing clear, ongoing training to staff and maintaining strong team communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of [5] clinical dental assisting experience, preferably in oral surgery or implant dentistry.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a clinical setting.
  • Strong communication skills, a calm demeanor, and the ability to set others at ease—both patients and team members.
  • Current CPR certification, state-specific licensure, and up-to-date continuing education credits.
  • Technical aptitude with dental software, imaging equipment, and cloud-based systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
