What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist position at Doctors Inlet Animal Hospital?
Our independently owned veterinary hospital is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Receptionist. Experience in a veterinary hospital is preferred but not required. We are looking for a warm and friendly individual that is able to multi-task, has good communication skills and can handle a fast paced work environment. Punctuality and dependability are also very important. Experience using Avimark is a plus.
JOB REQUIREMNETS
- High school diploma is a requirement.
- At least 1 year previous experience working in a veterinary practice OR a customer-facing role in another organization. (preferred)
- Must be friendly, outgoing, “people oriented”, and have a sense of humor.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be compassionate and sympathetic, and be able to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations.
- Must have exceptional telephone and computer skills.
- Avimark experience (preferred)
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will:
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Schedule client appointments
- Update and file patient charts, enter data into computerized billing programs
- Assist with pet supply purchases (supplements, grooming items, over the counter treatments, or other items)
- Must keep the waiting room and exam rooms neat and clean at all times

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
