Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Project Manager, Senior:

  • Manages activities for multiple projects across all phases, including initiation planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure.
  • Works collaboratively with Company departments to ensure project(s) meet objectives.
  • Works with Client(s) to develop project plan, execution and contract resolution.
  • Creates, manages, and tracks project progress documentation, including detailed project plans, project scope statements, resource plans, risk and issue logs, and status reports.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties:

  • Manages Client expectations regarding the execution of the contract.
  • Manages the Companys expectations regarding the execution of the contract.
  • Executes, with Company departments, and the Client project management principles in the accomplishment of the contract.
  • Works with the Project Management Office (PMO) to make adjustments required by the Client in the functional execution of project resource management, communication, task scheduling, issues management, risk management and revenue recognition for the project.
  • Coordinates Company resources to accomplish project objectives.
  • Develops and executes communication plans as necessary to assure that both internal and external stakeholders are aware of the successes, challenges and other pertinent information regarding contract execution.
  • Works with the Project Line Management (PLM0 office on project deliverables and development work required to execute the contract.
  • Makes key decisions that drive progress across projects.
  • Manages day-to-day activities, in conjunction with the PLM office, of assigned projects including but not limited to: the project schedule, project communicate, issues management, risk management, resource management, communication and other items required to successful execute the project with the Client.

 

Other Duties:

  • Tailor project management, development and support processes to meet the needs of Vendors/ External Clients.
  • Travels as needed, including weekend travel when necessary (abiding by COMPANY established travel guidelines)

SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

  • Required:

  • Possesses exceptional skills in partnering with staff from multiple departments and in developing and maintaining long-term supportive relationships.

  • Identifies appropriate internal resources for creation of project deliverables, documentation and oversees projects to completion
  • Communicates challenges, risks and potential issues in a professional manner that keeps internal team members motivated and accountable while also maintaining Client satisfaction through any changing timelines or priorities
  • Has proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Proficient with MS Project.
  • Proficient with SharePoint
  • Possesses a basic understanding of vxVistA or other EHR functionality and the ability to quickly become familiar with basic functions of other Company product offerings to be able to react and discuss appropriately as needed with the client

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required:
  • Bachelors degree; equivalent combinations of work experience and\or education will be considered.
  • Experience in technology environments, including 4 years of practical professional experience in project management for large EHR implementations
  • Desired:
  • Masters Degree in a relevant field of study
  • Profession certification in the clinical or technical specialty related to the product assignment or a demonstrated aptitude for acquiring the necessary knowledge and experience appropriate to the technical level to needed to perform or work with clients assigned to the specialty

  • Project Management Professional [PMP] preferred
