Location: Science/Math Annex
Pay Rate: $10.00
Supervisor: Science Instructor
Length of Employment: The term of employment for all student work study jobs is the beginning of the academic year to the end of the academic year at the end of the Spring semester. Both supervisors and student workers can end their employment at any time throughout this time frame. All individuals eligible for student work study must be enrolled in and maintain a minimum of six (6) credit hours of enrollment throughout their employment and remain in good academic standing as outlined by school policies and federal financial aid guidelines.
JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Science Instructors, the Bridges Program Students are responsible for assisting students with carrying out research and maybe involved in academic tutoring and to support the Bridges Program's efforts to service program participants within the program.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- To understand and commit to the Mission of the College ~ Dodge City Community College provides a student-centered learning environment where students can achieve their educational, personal, and career goals.
- Participate in research course BIO 190.
- Carry out basic research under the supervision of a faculty member.
- Collect, interpret, and report research results.
- Attend weekly meetings with the Bridges Director.
- Help with laboratory set up for assigned faculty member.
- Present research findings to the community at the end of the spring semester
- Develop a good understanding and knowledge of college services, supports, and resources.
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Must be enrolled in and maintain six (6) credit hours at Dodge City Community College.
- Must have completed a minim of one semester at Dodge City Community College.
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A recorded B or higher in course(s) being tutored.
- In good standing with student conduct.
- Computer skills- must have worked with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Available in the afternoons.
- Dependable and responsible.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Punctual.
- Self motivated.
- Ability to bend, stoop, jump, kneel, and sit/stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to carry equipment and supplies.
- Ability to ambulate and navigate stairs and ramps throughout the campus.
