What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Service Associate position at Dodge City Family YMCA?
GENERAL FUNCTION
The objective of the Member Service Associate is to manage all operations of the Welcome Center. The focus of the job is to effectively communicate with the staff, members, and participants with customer service as the top priority.
KNOW-HOW / QUALIFICATIONS
Ø Requires simple arithmetic and English skills
Ø Responsible for analyzing moderately difficult problems in a restricted functional area.
Ø The nature of duties and flow of work are such as to require normal attention and alertness with occasional concentration.
Ø No supervision required
Ø Moderate to frequent interdepartmental or external contacts on routine matters.
Ø Requires very little physical effort or handling of equipment.
Ø Accident or health hazards are negligible, and/or activity create little or no risk to participants.
Ø Errors can be easily detected result in only minor expense or delay in correction.
Ø Has access to information of confidential nature
Ø Required qualifications include training in a broad range of clerical tasks, personality traits must include honesty, friendliness, dependability, self-initiative, and respect for personal property rights.
Ø Maturity, patience, and good judgement are needed in dealing with YMCA members and other pressures of the job as they arise.
Ø Must be neat and professional in appearance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / POSITION RESPONSIBILITY
Ø Ability to answer and manage multi-line phone system.
Ø Properly greet and check in all members, guests, and program participants.
Ø Inform the appropriate staff of members comments, complaints, and suggestions.
Ø Distribute and manage towels, locks, equipment, and any other equipment needed.
Ø Effectively communicate the Membership Process.
Ø Administer the registrations of all guests, Nationwide Members, etc.
Ø Responsible for shift drawer cash, balancing and receipting all payments posted.
Ø Maintain all areas and keep them neat, clean and clutter free always.
Ø Assist MSA manager, Membership Director, and/or CEO on all letters, brochures, notifications, and other clerical duties s needed.
Ø Coordinate and work closely with the Membership Director regarding the scheduling.
Ø Responsible for finding a replacement for his or her own shift when the need arises in cases of emergency, illness or any ither absence.
Ø Assist other staff with promotional mailings and distributions.
Ø Attend staff meetings as needed.
Ø Ensure the right procedures are followed for opening/closing the building.
Ø Knowledge of ALL YMCA policies and procedures.
Ø Commitment to the YMCA Core Values and Mission, pledge and theme and incorporate into all programs.
Ø Any other work deemed necessary by the Membership Director.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.47 per hour
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Every weekend
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
