Purpose: To work with administration, teachers, instructional coaches and provide professional development, training and general support in implementing program.

Payment Rate: Per the USD 443 Professional Development Provider Guidelines for Internal Staff (BOE approved 12.12.22)

Responsible to: Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction

FLSA Status: non exempt

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Contract Length: per contracted task that is reimbursed per lump sum and not hourly. The scope of work is estimated being.

  • 15-25 hours, this includes plan, prep, and presentation
  • 5-10 hours for second day, if required, presentation with new content

  • Possess Valid Kansas Teacher License
  • Experience and/or specialized training in curriculum content and instructional pedagogy relative to assignment. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with instruction, methodology and materials related to bilingual education. ESL/ESOL endorsement preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with fellow educators to develop, implement and evaluate instructional strategies and materials to improve teaching and learning for all students.
  • Kansas Certification of Health on file in the Central Office.
  • Kansas Certification for Building Leadership preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Proficient and experienced with the content, pedagogy and district guidelines and expectations
  • Proficient with alignment of instructional resources to tiered instructional planning.
  • Contribute to the academic improvement initiatives of the district and individual school buildings.
  • Work effectively with district and building administration, as well as instructional staff to improve instruction and student achievement.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with staff, students and the public.
  • Understand the system of interventions at all tiers of support including Special Education and ESL/ELL

Physical Requirements And Environmental Conditions

  • Must be able to travel among the district’s school and administrative sites.
  • Must be able to work in both classroom and office settings.
  • Must occasionally lift materials and equipment up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • May require extended periods of both sitting and standing.
  • Requires patience to work with numerous interruptions, flexible scheduling and various staff.

General Responsibilities

  • Facilitate group discussion with district MTSS structures and alignment to content specific instruction.
  • Facilitate discussion and review of grade level & content specific pacing guides/curriculum maps.
  • Facilitate and demonstrate knowledge of grade level/content specific standards.
  • Facilitate & model lesson plan design that is aligned to standards and specific to resource being modeled.
  • Model research based instructional strategies.
  • Facilitate, interpret, & integrate core resources formative & FastBridge data for grouping.
  • Facilitate & interpret the use of formative/summative data. (e.g., check for understanding, exit tickets, etc.).
  • Facilitate discussions on Tier 2 & Tier 3 supports and how to best differentiate instruction.
  • Facilitate discussion with the integration of LETRS, (i.e., Word Recognition & Language Comprehension).
  • Model and integrate Biography Driven Instruction and best strategies to support EL learners.
