Doeren Mayhew is hiring a Tax Associate to work in our Business Advisory Group headquartered in Troy, Michigan. Our ideal candidate has 1 year of public accounting experience in business and individual tax preparation, compilations, reviews, and accounting. Responsibilities:
- Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, C-corporations, S-corporations, trusts, personal property, and payroll.
- Provide QuickBooks support and training.
- Consult with clients daily.
- Assist with compliance and IRS notices.
- Conduct tax research on various topics.
- Participate in special projects such as strategic planning, exit planning, systems optimization, organizational design, budgets, and forecasts, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA-eligible, or has a progressive plan toward passing the CPA exam in place
- Pursuing CPA license or plan to
- 1 years public accounting experience
- Proficient in QuickBooks and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects/clients and deadlines
- Demonstrated leadership qualities
- Ability to take initiative
