Job Summary
Dog Day Getaway, a reputable & well-established dog daycare and boarding facility in Apple Valley, is seeking an experienced & dedicated Team Lead. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Dog Handler who is comfortable with dogs of all sizes in a group setting, can excel in a fast-paced environment and has experience leading teams. This position requires previous experience being a Team Lead or equivalent at a Dog Daycare & Boarding facility.

As a Team Lead, you will play an essential part in ensuring the well-being and safety of our furry guests, execute the development plans of the Dog Handlers on your shifts and create relationships with our customers. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the dogs, providing excellence in customer service, and helping to maintain a clean environment with your team.

Responsibilities
- Take a central role in ensuring the day-to-day Daycare & Boarding operations run smoothly.

-Effectively lead and supervise 5 Dog Handlers at a time.

-Evaluate and assess behavior of a variety of dogs for their compatibility within our daycare environment.

- Ensure that the Dog Handlers are being trained according to the facility training plans on both playgroup management as well as daily operations.

- Oversee as well as execute the feeding and administering medications according to specific instructions.

- Develop relationships with customers. Be able to comfortably communicate dog behavior issues and resolve customer issues.

- Listen to the Dog Handlers needs and concerns and be a liaison between them and the management team.

-Work with your team to continuously evaluate dog behavior to ensure a positive daycare environment and discuss any dog issues with the management team for action plans.

- Collaborate with the team to ensure all dogs receive outstanding attention and care throughout their stay.

Requirements
--MUST LOVE DOGS!

- Excellent communication skills to interact with your team and the customers-in person, on the phone and in writing.

-Must be consistent and reliable and maintain a positive attitude through adversity.

-Must be able to follow directions & comply with company processes and procedures.

-Must be able to professionally coach and train new and existing employees.

- Working knowledge of dog behavior & group play management techniques.

-Good physical stamina to handle the demands of the job.

- Ability to remain organized and calm while working in a dynamic environment.

- Strong leadership qualities (ability to use judgement, delegate and be supportive).

- Flexibility to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.

-Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as be able to bend or kneel all without restriction.

-Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

-Must have a valid driver's license & reliable transportation.

Schedule:

6am - 130pm, 1pm - 830pm, 10am - 6pm, we are open 7 days a week & staffed 365 days a year.

There is flexibility in scheduling. Part-time & Full-time positions available.
