Job Title: Part-Time Pet Care Assistant (Evening Shift)

Job Summary:

The Part-Time Pet Care Assistant is an evening shift role focused on providing exceptional care to pets and supporting smooth daily operations. This position involves hands-on pet care, cleaning duties, and communication with clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Flexibility, attention to detail, and a love for animals are essential.

Shift Schedule:

• Monday: TBD
• Tuesday: TBD
• Wednesday: TBD
• Thursday: TBD
• Friday: 5 pm-11 pm
• Saturday: 4 pm- 11 pm
• Sunday: 4 pm - 11 pm

Key Responsibilities: Pet Care Duties

• Provide in-home pet care, including feeding, walking, playtime, and administering medications as needed.
• Supervise backyard play, ensuring all dogs get adequate exercise and safe social interactions.
• Care for cats, including feeding, litter box maintenance, and play.
• Clean and maintain the pet care environment, including washing bowls, cleaning up after pets, and completing laundry.
• Ensure pets are safe, comfortable, and happy during their stay.
• Assist nervous or challenging pets calmly and professionally to maintain a safe environment.
• Take photos of pets to update clients and enhance communication.

Client Communication & Support

• Update clients with daily reports about their pets, ensuring clear and friendly communication.
• Notify management of any concerns or incidents that arise during your shift.

Cleaning & Maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness in all pet care areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for pets and staff.
• Handle routine laundry and cleaning tasks to support overall operations.

Shift Wrap-Up Tasks

• Prepare a detailed update for the next shift or management before clocking out.
• Ensure all client communications, including messages and scheduling updates, are completed before ending your shift.

Qualifications:

• Age: Minimum 21 years old.
• Location: Must live locally in the Sayville area.
• Experience: Prior pet care experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Skills:
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to handle pets weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and in various weather conditions.
• Driver's License: Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation are required.
• Availability: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

• You will be driving back and forth to the client's homes during part of each shift. You must have a valid driver's license and own your own vehicle. Please answer yes or no to a valid driver's license and what make and model car do you own?
• We work outside in all weather conditions. Your shift does not require you to be outside the entire time but in and out a lot with long periods outside with the dogs. Are you willing and able to work outdoors?

• Our company is run out of a home environment, do you have any issues reporting to a home instead of a facility for your work shift?
• We require a full back ground check including a drug test for this position, do you have any issues with that?
