Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for dogs and cats of various breeds and sizes.
- Assess the condition of each pet’s coat and skin to recommend appropriate grooming techniques and products.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' grooming needs and any health concerns observed during grooming sessions.
- Provide exceptional customer service to build lasting relationships with clients.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure both the pet's safety and your own.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, especially for larger breeds or special needs animals.
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care or pet grooming is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with kennel operations, pet sitting, or veterinary technician duties is a plus.
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques is beneficial for handling pets during grooming sessions.
- Strong customer service skills are essential to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their concerns.
- Experience with equine care is an advantage but not required.
