What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Associate Attorney position at Dogali Selvy Law, P.A.?
The firm seeks a full-time licensed attorney with 1-5 years of experience to join our practice. The candidate must be a member in good standing of the Florida Bar. Preference will be given to someone with at least two years of litigation experience who exhibits ambition and a desire for permanency.
The attorney will perform a broad range of tasks, including:
· Draft pleadings, motion practice, appellate briefs
· Attend hearings
· Research and analyze complex issues in federal and state court
· Conduct depositions
· Draft discovery
· Draft responses to discovery
· Gather and organize documents and evidence
· Communicate with opposing counsel
· Communicate with clients
· Interview clients and witnesses
· Attend mediations
· Negotiate and settle claims
· Supervise staff
· Attend jury and non-jury trials – first or second chair depending upon client expectations, nature of claim, and attorney experience
