Job Summary
The PM Technician will perform on-site detailed inspections, equipment repairs and train customers on basic equipment maintenance/recommendations. Technician will realign, adjust, if necessary replace parts in machines and provide suggestions for the preventative maintenance schedule.
The PM Technician will perform on-site detailed inspections, equipment repairs and train customers on basic equipment maintenance/recommendations. Technician will realign, adjust, if necessary replace parts in machines and provide suggestions for the preventative maintenance schedule.
Essential Functions
- Visually inspect/listen to machines and equipment.
- Dismantle machines, and equipment to gain access to mechanical assemblies.
- Inspect/measure parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems.
- Remove/replace work, or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
- Realign/adjust components such as spindles, clutches, ball screws and others as required.
- Start machines and equipment to test operation following inspection.
- Provide written reports of inspection findings, and recommendations for repair.
- Advise customer on necessary, and recommended service work.
- Develop and maintain a good rapport with customers, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment changes, or modifications through various resources.
- Complete work orders, expense reports and daily/weekly time logs.
- Keep Service Managers informed on all significant problems, progress or difficulties.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Experience as a PM Technician preferred.
- Attention to detail.
- Must have good working knowledge of tools and their uses.
Travel Requirements
- Travel up to 100% of the time within the greater local area.
Environmental Conditions
Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.
