Position Overview: As a Canine Coach at Dogtopia, you will be responsible for managing and caring for a group of dogs in our daycare facility. Your primary duties will include ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all dogs in your care while maintaining a clean and engaging play environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Playgroups: Monitor and manage a pack of dogs, ensuring they interact safely and positively with one another.
- Health & Safety: Continuously observe dogs for signs of stress, illness, or injury and take appropriate action when necessary. Report any concerns to management.
- Engagement & Enrichment: Lead structured activities and exercises to keep dogs mentally stimulated and physically active.
- Cleanliness & Maintenance: Follow strict sanitation protocols, including cleaning play areas and handling waste promptly.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with other team members about the dogs’ behavior, needs, and any incidents that occur.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and safe operation of the daycare facility. Provide clear updates on dog behavior, incidents, or special care needs.
Qualifications:
- A genuine love for dogs and a passion for their well-being.
- Ability to handle multiple dogs of various sizes and temperaments in a group setting.
- Strong observation skills to monitor dog behavior and health.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Physical ability to be on your feet for extended periods and perform cleaning tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a doggy daycare, animal shelter, or veterinary clinic is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of canine behavior and training techniques
