General Job Description
The Inventory Coordinator at Dogwood Industries plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, organization, and availability of materials to support production. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory records in the ERP system, managing part inventory parameters, coordinating material readiness for production, and driving continuous improvements in inventory control. Working closely with procurement, receiving, shipping, material handling, and production teams, the Inventory Coordinator helps optimize material flow, prevent stockouts and enhance overall efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and update part records in the ERP system
- Support regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Investigate and resolve inventory inaccuracies through root cause analysis
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring inventory issues
- Audit inventory transactions to monitor material shortages or excesses affecting production schedules
- Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Track and report key inventory metrics such as turns, accuracy, and obsolescence
- Maintain documentation related to inventory movements and adjustments
- Establish and maintain appropriate parameters, such as safety stock, reorder points, and lead times
- Collaborate with procurement and production planning to align inventory levels with demand forecasts
- Continuously optimize stocking strategies to improve efficiency and reduce carrying costs
- Recommend process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency
- Work with cross-functional teams to standardize inventory control procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- years of experience in inventory control, material management, or related field
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain processes
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This position requires moderate physical activity, primarily in an office environment but will include time on the production floor to collaborate and inspect materials. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly seated at a computer desk with the option to stand, is utilizing a phone frequently and participating in meetings with colleagues, clients, third party vendors, etc. There are stairs in the office. In the factory setting, you may inspect and handle materials and be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors.
Compensation
$29.00 – $41.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Location
This is an onsite position at the Dogwood Everett Factory at 3200 35th Ave NE, Everett, WA 98201. Travel to Dogwood’s Bothell Corporate office or Sedro-Woolley Factory office, as needed.
