Salary : $35,000 / year

Overview :

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Web Maintenance Specialist to ensure our websites remain secure, high-performing, and user-friendly. This role involves regularly updating plugins, themes, and server configurations while addressing technical issues and maintaining seamless site functionality. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain websites in fast-paced environments.

Job Responsibilities :

Website Maintenance

Perform regular updates of website plugins, themes, and core files to ensure compatibility and security.
Monitor website performance, uptime, and loading speed, addressing any issues that arise to optimize functionality.

Content Updates

Implement updates to website content, including text, images, and multimedia, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.

Verify that content meets web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) for inclusive user experiences.

Server Updates and Management

Coordinate server updates, patches, and maintenance to ensure website stability and security.

Monitor server performance, troubleshoot hosting-related issues, and manage data backups to prevent data loss.

Technical Troubleshooting

Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including broken links, layout inconsistencies, and functionality glitches.

Collaborate with developers when addressing advanced technical challenges beyond standard maintenance.

Quality Assurance

Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve potential vulnerabilities or performance issues.

Test website features and functionality after updates to confirm all systems are running as expected.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate documentation of updates, changes, and troubleshooting processes to streamline future maintenance.

Generate regular reports detailing website performance, updates, and any major issues addressed.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Proven experience in website maintenance, including updating plugins, themes, and servers.

Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).

Basic knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.

Experience with website hosting platforms, server configurations, and performance monitoring tools.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for resolving both front-end and back-end issues.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams and external vendors.

Preferred Skills :

Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience using web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).

Familiarity with web security protocols to protect sites from vulnerabilities and attacks.

Understanding of website performance optimization techniques to improve speed and responsiveness.

Working Conditions :

This is a 100% in-office position.

The Web Maintenance Specialist must be available to address urgent technical issues, including occasional after-hours support when necessary.

Dogwood Media Solutions, LLC is privately owned and operated. Currently, there are 13 people on staff to assist clients.
