Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical BSA/AML Analyst to join our compliance team. This role involves monitoring, investigating, and reporting suspicious activity in compliance with BSA/AML regulations, OFAC requirements, and the USA PATRIOT Act. The analyst will leverage technology, such as Verafin, to enhance the bank's compliance capabilities. This position requires a strong understanding of banking operations, regulatory guidance, and industry’s best practices. The analyst will play a key role in identifying and mitigating risks, conducting investigations, and ensuring the bank's compliance program remains effective and up to date.

Key Responsibilities
- Utilizes Verafin and other monitoring systems to identify and investigate suspicious activity.
- Conducts Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews on high-risk customers and transactions.
- Prepares and files Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
- Analyzes financial data to detect patterns of money laundering, fraud, or other financial crimes.
- Ensures compliance with BSA, AML, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, and other applicable regulations.
- Collaborates with internal departments to ensure consistent adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Maintains current knowledge of regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging risks.
- Participates in ongoing BSA/AML training and professional development.
- Develops and revises policies, procedures, and training programs related to BSA/AML compliance.
- Conducts risk assessments and implements corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
- Maintains an effective Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) program.
- Performs customer and transaction analytics.
- Adheres specifically to all Bank policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.
- Responsible for following regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering or other unlawful activities.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience in a BSA/AML compliance role, preferably within a financial institution. 5 years preferred.
- Proficiency with Verafin preferred.
- CAMS certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Other relevant certifications (ACAMS, ACFE, CRCM) considered.
- Strong knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, risk assessment, and investigative techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Wherewithal and flexibility to undertake new functions and tasks as compliance risk and the bank evolves and grows.
- Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to gather, organize, and interpret data.
- Strong attention to detail with an investigative approach.
